Ha, I knew you’d pick on the “female pig”-thing. 😛
Actually its just the name for the female wild boar here, a term not even know by everybody. Its more hunting terms.
I guess that Ernie Bache had his name somewhat americanized. I really liked the English pronunciation. Added some flavor. 😉
Yeah, and the whole “sch” and “ch” is difficult for English speaking throats. 😛
By the way in the German books porcuswines are called Stachelspeckswein. The problem with translating porcuswine was that the German Stachelschwein is already the name for porcupine. Tho its more like the direct translation of porcuswine. So they added the “speck” which means bacon. But I’d say it fits an animal breed for porcuswine-burger. 😉
Cool, found something bout that Ernie Bache. I dunno how I could missed that.

Somehow I always thought of Inskipp to have something of Harry. Maybe because he is the one trying to have at least a lil control off him. 😉

Just working on a few more questions and instead of crawling thru my books I use Google to search for some SSR-facts and accidently found this:
A Russian site where you can read The Stainless Steel Rat and The Stainless Steel Rat Gets Drafted online, but also download them as files.
Besides that the side is in Russian which I cannot read, but if you do a search for Harry it seems to come up with all other Rat-books in Russian.
    I wonder if its legal?

There are a small number of HH short stories and the novel Plaanet of the Damned which are out of copyright in the US, and so are available in various places as free e-books or audio books. Anything else that is out there for free is a pirate edition. There are some genuine e-books and audio books, but none of them are free.

I’m not going to put the links to the pirate stuff on the blog — I took them out of Burin’s comment too.
