Make Room for more artwork…

I mentioned a few posts ago that there was a nice German edition of Make Room! Make Room! that had interior illustrations based on the movie Soylent Green; I dug out my copy and scanned a few of the more obvious images. This edition was published by Heyne in 1982.

The cover shows, if I remember correctly, a scene early in the book where the hero Andy Rusch sees a baby tied by a piece of rope to the ankle of someone lying in the street. It’s a pretty grim image to choose for the cover…

Here is Andy Rusch, as played by Charlton Heston in the movie — the character was renamed Thorn for the movie, in part because they producers planned to call the movie Thorn: 2022 at one point.
