Harry Harrison – Fan Artwork 1941

Here’s a little something Harry and I discovered in his files this week – a fanzine called Sun Spots, published in May-June 1941, which contains a piece of artwork called ‘Robot’ by a 16-year-old Harry Harrison.

This fanzine was produced in the days before photocopiers, and the text and artwork had to be transferred to stencils for reproduction, hence the note underneath the picture. It looks as though HH made a couple of amendments in pencil to the magazine — the page number has been corrected from 12 to 5, and the grill of the robot’s mouth has been added to.
