I WAS VERY HAPPY TO HAVE STUMBLED ACROSS THIS WEBSITE! WITH EVERY TRIP TO THE BOOK STORE I ASK THE SALES CLERK IF THERE IS A NEW STAINLESS STEAL RAT BOOK (OR ANY HARRISON BOOK) COMING OUT. I WROTE HARRY ONCE, HE ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE BACK. I HOPE HE IS DOING WELL AND AM LOOKING FOREWARD TO HIS NEW BOOK. READS WELL SO FAR!

Interesting show, funny and entertaining. I kind of like the premise. Although it seems a bit like an 80’s tv show called hardcastle and mccormick. Anyways, if you haven’t found it already you can watch the series on the internet about a week after it airs on usanetwork.com

As a Long time fan (1977- present) I could honestly say George Clooney would make a great Jimi Di Griz. Failing that, Gordon Ramsey, and last choice: Daniel Craig.

My question/suggestion to this forum though…
I’d LOVEEEE to see a “collection” book series made. All the Stainless Steel Rat books in one chunk for the uninitiated. I find myself buying what I can where I can from a dozen bookstores. Would be great to get the lot in one go…

Thanks for the heads-up on this series, I’d never have bothered watching it if I hadn’t read this!

The first episode is pretty good, bodes well for the series I hope. (There again, the cancelling of Defying Gravity says a lot about what US TV companies think about series that I like.) There’s a definite Slippery Jim feel to the whole thing, though of course there is no SciFi element to the story.

Definitely worth trying to find and watch, if all else fails get in touch with Channel 5 and ask them to consider showing it!

If you won’t see it in the UK for ages then it will prolly even longer for this show to be screened here in Germany.
Tho that depends on the success of the show too.

Now wouldn’t that be great? George Lucas and Harry Harrison working together on a new sci-fi movie….wether it would be based on a HH book or not.

A big secret book…..aaah, the excitement. Well, I hope the new Rat-book will be published in Germany in 2010 too and not like “SSR joins the circus” which we still wait for.
