A while ago we got an e-mail asking who the cover artist is for the New English Library edition of The Technicolor Time Machine published in 1970 (see image above). The artist isn’t credited on the cover.
Anyone know who it might be? If anyone identifies the artist, I’ll send them a copy of TTM signed by HH (a newer edition than this one).

Judging by the art style, I’d say either Alan Gutierrez or Josh Kirby. I’ve provided links to their sites below.

Hi Nick – thanks for your comments.
I’m not sure about Alan Gutierrez – I’ve seen his recent stuff, but nothing as early as 1970. The TTM illustration isn’t as ’smooth’ looking as the stuff on his website. Is any of his earlier stuff on the web anywhere?
There’s a list of Josh Kirby’s stuff here, and TTM is listed for a 1991 edition. I’ve seen this cover, and it isn’t the one we’re looking for.

I have a feeling the illustrator of the TTM cover may have been a cartoonist / illustrator in the UK (or Europe) who also did black and white cartoons. Though it could just be that the style of the painting is similar to cartoons I’ve seen from that period.
